Almost There!

This is Tiffany here with a final post for Sierra. With school fundraisers, our tamales, her baking, babysitting, and a couple of donations from some very thoughtful folks, her trip is paid for! I told her I'd help with ideas for spending money, so the following is what we've come up with. If anything here interests you, be sure to let us know!
1) Tamales
Sierra and I will be making cheese and jalapeno (or plain cheese, if you like) tamales next week, ready for pick up on Friday, June 3rd. They're $10 a dozen and if you're interested in freezing them (they freeze well), let me know and I'll wrap them accordingly.
2) Pumpkin Rolls
It's not the time of year that most people make these but we're happy to make some if anyone's interested. $5 each.
3) Babysitting
Sierra would love to babysit and after Thursday (5/26) she'll be out of school for the year so she's got free time. Let us know if you need a sitter!
4) Succulent Bowls
Sierra's been making succulent arrangements and they're really pretty. They're small but varied and as they fill and outgrow the bowl, pieces can be pulled out and planted in other pots or flower beds. $7 a bowl.
5) Various Stuff:)
Sierra cleaned out her room and came up with a couple things she wants to sell. If you have any interested, let me know.
  • Huge Stuffed Horse $10

  • Two Beanie Buddies $5 for both

Thanks in advance for any help you want to throw her way!

Apple Dumplings!

I'm ready to bake apple dumplings this week! These are my favorite of all the desserts I've made so far. I hope you like them! It's going to cost a little more than what I usually make because we had to buy aluminum pans. Real butter too because it tastes better that way. Let my mom know if you're interested and what time you'd like to get them (warm!) on Friday or Saturday.

Chocolicious Loaf Cake and Applebee's Pancake Breakfast!

She's back! Sierra's at school now but I wanted to make sure we had a photo up of what she's baking tomorrow. Let us know if you're interested and if so how many you'd like ($5 per loaf).

At Christmas time the whole family banded together to make over 70 dozen tamales for her trip and that went a long way toward paying for her trip. Thanks to all who ordered! I'll make some every now and then--if you'd like to be on our Tamal List, we'll let you know if we have any extras available. Also, if you'd like to order 5 dozen or more, let me know and we can work something out:).

Finally, the Enterprise Middle School Travel Club that Sierra belongs to is selling tickets for a pancake breakfast at Applebee's. The breakfast is Saturday, January 29th and for the $7 per ticket, $5 will go to the student who sells it. Such a deal! Let us know if we can talk you into a ticket or two;)!

Thanks for all the support!

Pumpkin Cider Pudding Cake!

Okay, it's Mom writing today. We were going to bake something a little less sweet this week because we're getting into the holiday season and generally speaking, we all get plenty of sweets right about now. I was thinking of a savory something-or-other but that will have to wait!

This morning I was at Hobby Lobby looking for some snowflake sprinkles for the lime-cornmeal cookies I'm going to bake (I know, I know, but they are FANTASTIC!) when I struck up a conversation with the gal at the checkstand. We were waiting for a price check on the sprinkles and she told me about a recipe I just had to try. She sounded pretty serious about it so I came right home and put it together. OH MY GOODNESS. Thank you Tatiana!

So anyway, the recipe this week is Pumpkin Cider Pudding Cake. It'll have to cost a little bit more than the other things we made because the ingredients cost a little more but oh my, it's worth it! Let us know what time you'd like this on Saturday and we'll do our best to get it to you warm! It can also be warmed in the oven so either way, it'll be awesome. Like always, we'll also do pumpkin rolls in units of 3 if anyone's still interested.

Squash Breads!

This week I'm making two kinds of bread. We have squash to use up so I'm going to make Cinnamon Squash Bread and Orange-Walnut Squash Bread. The cinnamon kind is our favorite but Grandma and Grandpa brought over a loaf of the Orange-Walnut kind and it's really good too.

Last week we sold 10 loaves of apple bread and 6 pumpkin rolls. That ended up being $46 for the trip! Thanks for helping me out!

Since Thanksgiving is coming up, we'll still make pumpkin rolls for anyone who wants them. They freeze really well!

Cinnamon Squash Bread $5 or 2 for $8
Orange-Walnut Squash Bread $5
Pumpkin Rolls 3 for $15

Awesome Apple Bread!

This week I'm making apple bread from apples our neighbor gave us. Mom made a batch yesterday and it was delicious! I hope you'll order a loaf!

Last week my profit was $25.20. Thanks for the orders! Mom said I can still make pumpkin rolls and pumpkin bread if anyone wants them, but I need to sell the pumpkin rolls in mulitples of 3 and the pumpkin bread in multiples of 2 because she doesn't want leftovers.

By the way, they freeze really well!
